School Council
What is a school council?
A school council is a formal group of pupils who act as representatives of their classmates in discussing school issues with the school council leader. The school council leader then follows up the representatives’ conversations with actions to help improve any aspect of the school.
What is happening at Jewell Academy?
We run our school council meetings once a fortnight. This gives our school council reps’ a chance to discuss ideas with their peers and to feedback actions taken since our last meeting. Every meeting is recorded with notes that explain what has been raised, what is going to happen about it and we review previous actions.
Who are our school council representatives?
After a lot of hard work from children in every year group, children ran hustings and subsequent elections for each class to decide upon their class and year group school council representative.
Congratulations to the following children, who are this year’s school council representatives:
Y2 | Ellie-May | Amelia |
Y3 | Christopher S | Jude V |
Y4 | Jigme K | Isla B |
Y5 | Betsy U | James B |
Y6 | Braydon T | Lilly S |
